Let’s face the facts; road trips and diets do not work well together. Freeway foods often secure a spot on the “do not eat” list, especially when you’re trying to shed a few pounds. Sure, taking a road trip can be the experience of a lifetime. However, at the end of your journey you may find that you’ve gained more then just some memorable experiences. So how do we escape the fast food, gas station snacks, chips, sodas and other fatty, calorie-packed munchies that tend to linger around your waist?
Healthy eating at a restaurant: When you head to a restaurant, despite how delicious the stack of pancakes or a bacon cheeseburger look, try to stick with a healthy, protein filled omelet, a bowl of oatmeal with fresh fruit or a bran muffin (for something sweet). For a lunch or dinner meal, look for a soup and salad combo or a piece of grilled chicken with steamed vegetables.
