At this annual festival, you will see demonstrations of authentic traditions and ways of life both old and practiced today. At this exhibition, artists, craftspeople, musicians, storytellers, and other cultural practitioners are able to tell their community’s story, and visitors are invited to participate. Broaden your horizons by dancing, singing, eating, and learning in an authentic environment. The Smithsonian provides a welcome and open environment right on the National Mall. The 2014 festival features Kenya and China – check the website for the special events each day.

The 2015 festival will be moved due to renovations at the National Mall. You’ll be able to find the festival in front of the National Museum of the American Indian from Jun 24 – 28 and July 1 – 5, 2015. Currently, Nepal is scheduled to be featured at the 2015 event.
