Best Places for Fourth of July on the West Coast
Fireworks, barbecues, summertime and fun in the sun! There’s no better time to indulge in all that summer than on the Fourth of July. For some of us, the east coast is the place to be. Some will be in New York City’s Times Square. Or some may be right on the Hudson River looking at the spectacular firework show. However, for others, the West Coast is where they will be for a night of fireworks and celebrations.

You can spend the day out at the beach catching a few rays, bike riding on the Strand, grabbing lunch, then once night comes be sure to gather near the pier for the fireworks show.

Fireworks by the Golden Gate Bridge? You don’t have to ask us twice. It may not be warm enough for a day at the beach, but a Fourth of July celebration in San Francisco is a fun one throughout the entire city. Enjoy a day exploring the Bay area, ride on a cable car, visit Fisherman’s Wharf, then stick around for the fireworks at night!
San Diego, CA
The beauty of San Diego is how the city meets the ocean, and there’s no better place on the West Coast to spend the summers here and enjoy a Fourth of July. Whether you’re on a rooftop bar or sitting on the sand in Coronado, you’ll get a great view of the spectacular fireworks show wherever you are.
Last, but not least, funky Portland itself is a perfect place to enjoy a Fourth of July. Enjoy great food, barbecues, and fireworks from the beautiful city of downtown Portland. You can even hop over to Hood River, OR to watch a fireworks show on the Columbia River Gorge.
