Tailgating & More
The Polo Series is a great event to attend if you are on a road trip through the area since it is perfect for tailgating. In fact, around the playing field, there are tailgating spots specifically reserved if you want a front-row seat to the action while you are grilling.
If you don’t have all the necessary grilling equipment with you, not to worry, swing by the local grocery store or sandwich shop and pick up a few supplies. You are allowed to bring in food and drink whether you have an assigned tailgate spot or not and tickets can be bought right at the main entrance in cash.
You can grab a piece of lawn to enjoy the game with the other spectators, or pay a little more and get a seat in the stands. Food and drinks are also sold at the game. Therefore, you don’t have to do anything other than show up!
It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon after a day at the beach or strolling around in Newport.
In addition to the annual matches held here, polo lessons are available. With a variety of instructors to choose from, no matter what skill level you are, they are there to cater a broad range of abilities.
