Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, we can say good bye to those fun fall hayrides and pumpkin patch adventures until next year. Winter doesn’t officially start until December 21st, but why not get into the spirit of the season with one of these magnificent ice playgrounds that will “wow” you and those you are with. Ice playgrounds are usually displays of hand carved ice sculptures made for marveling at and admiring. There are only a few in the country that are famous and worth a visit. Orlando is a mecca for entertainment and awe-inspiring attractions. Just because it’s winter and it may be a little chilly for the beach or a theme park, Florida never fails! The Gaylord Palms offers one of the most famous ice attractions in the country, “ICE!” ICE runs from November 23-January 5 and displays over two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures that guests can take a journey through.

2. Ice Castles – Midway, Utah, Breckenridge, Colorado and Lincoln, New Hampshire
Located in three different locations, Ice Castles are magnificent ice formations that are sculpted into ice castles. Guests can walk through the astonishing castles and view each icicle that was hand crafted to perfection.

3. Aurora Ice Museum – Fairbanks, Alaska
The Aurora Ice Museum is located at Chena Hot Springs Resort! This remarkable museum stays at a chilling 25° Fahrenheit inside. Visitors can enjoy the viewing pleasure of beautiful ice sculptures created by world champion ice carver, Steve Brice and his wife, Heather.
