Tis the season to clean, clean, and clean some more! Spring cleaning isn’t just limited to your home – it also means cleaning out your car. Throughout the year it’s easy to accumulate water bottles, receipts, crumbs and other things that tend to pile up in our car. When it comes time to do some spring cleaning in your car, don’t forget these important areas of your vehicle to pay special attention to.

Carpet and Upholstery

This is one of those areas you can’t miss – where mostly all the dirt and dust builds up. Get your vacuum and do some intensive carpet cleaning! For the upholstery, use a damp towel or upholstery cleaner and wipe down the dashboard, etc.

Windows

This time of year, the windows will need some special attention. Clean the inside and outside using your choice of window cleaner. You can also use a dry towel after to give them an extra shine. Don’t forget the rear view and side mirrors!

Console

Road Trip PlaylistUsing a wet cloth, carefully wipe around the console to pick up any dirt, dust and/or crumbs that are piled up. Get inside the cup holders as well, as those can easily collect debris throughout the day.

The Trunk

How often do we throw things in the truck and then forget about it? Clear everything out, throw away what you don’t need, and find a new home for the things that don’t belong in there!

Wheels

Tire Change

Don’t you despise when that black dirt builds up around your hubcaps? Get a strong brush and scrub the tires and wheels in their entirety. It might not be a bad idea to check the tire pressure in all the tires as well.

Wind Shield Wipers

When was the last time you had them replaced? If you see some streaks when they are used, it might not be a bad idea to get them replaced. Especially entering the summer season, when it tends to rain a lot.

Check Under the Hood

Car with Hood Popped

Now, not everyone knows what they’re looking for when they open the hood of a car (me especially). If that’s the case, take your vehicle to someone who knows how to check the engine oil, battery, etc., to ensure that everything is working as it should.
